How Were Amphibious Landings Carried Out in WW1?

Asked 7 months ago by Robert "Jeff the Hobo" Cartwright

Hi Indy and Crew! I’m sure most people are familiar with how landings were carried out in the Second World War, but what about The Great War? Were specially designed boats and ships used in landings at Gallipoli or for Operation Albion? Did Amphibious Warfare evolve during the war? Also was there meticulous planning for these landings like Operation Neptune in World War 2? A certain canceled Douglas Haig plan crosses the mind. Thanks for the tremendous work and keep it up!
